J+J+J is a joyous electronic pop duo from Schiller Park, IL. They play the most unpretentious, friendly, passionately sweet electric pop this side of the globe. Joanna and Johnny met a few years ago at a church parking lot rock show in their beautiful hometown. The two J’s quickly became an item, and started making “music” together. Paying homage to this event, they allowed Jesus to be the third “J” in the band.

J+J+J approach the music writing process the same way a ten-year-old with a vast knowledge of sound design would. Playful lyrics sung in English and Polish (Joanna was born in Poland) trot hand-in-hand with energetic tones and percussion built from the purest sounds electronic instruments have to offer. The results are nothing short of spectacular.

A J+J+J live performance is like a kindergarten field trip to a candy factory with no chaperones. Beats pound, body parts wiz by, piano keys get beaten into submission, you dance, you laugh, a smile wraps around your head, and Joanna and Johnny melt your heart. J+J+J have shared the stage with and converted fans of the following: Animal Collective, Freezepop, I Am Spoonbender, and Troubled Hubble.

In 2004 Chicago electronic collective, Ghost Arcade Ltd., released the Spills That Kill EP, an excellent first outing for the J’s, but only a small taste of what’s to come on J+J+J’s 2005 full length debut, They Hump While We Go Nuts. J+J+J have turned home recording into an extreme sport!

Not only is They Hump While We Go Nuts J+J+J’s second release, it’s also the second release on Circle Machine Records, the brand new electronic division of Johann’s Face Records. Hump picks up right where Spills That Kill EP left off: Filled to the brim with sugary songs about playing skeeball, picking up chicks with crappy poems, the random scanning of pregnant ladies’ bellies, and jobs that require the use of headphones, Hump is filled with more hooks than a fisherman’s tackle box!

This time out J+J+J recruited the aid of several musicians that have inspired them over the years. James Marlon MAGAS, of Couch/Lake of Dracula/MAGAS fame, lends his off-kilter vocal delivery on “High School? You Mean Inverted Caste System” to hilarious effect. Robot Disco legends, N.O.I.A., who have been active in the Italian electronic scene since the ’70s, stepped up to remix “Portable Ultra Sound.”
“Jobs That Require Headphones” got a makeover by London’s Boy/Girl Synth Extremist’s, Schmoof, who represent for G.D. Luxxe’s Angelika Koehlermann imprint.

J+J+J have found the Portal to go back in time and be a kid again. They Hump While We Go Nuts is the vessel.
